Generate Reports and Statistics

Reports provide you with insight into how your company manages its mishandled bags using WorldTracer.

You can generate reports for your station, for your airline, and for airlines that you handle. You can select various parameters to customize each report.

You can send reports to an email address or a teletype address. You can send certain reports to a Station Inbox.

There are three formats for reports: Text, PDF, and CSV (for Excel), but some reports are only available in Text or CSV format.

The report formats available for a report are indicated in the Report Format field when you generate your report.

Tips:

Try out the different reports and parameters, to find the reports best suited for your business reporting.

Refer to WorldTracer Native Transactions to decode the information contained in the reports.

Settings in the Master Record control which reports are automatically generated at the start of each month.

Access to reports is controlled by the user role and permissions.

The following reports are considered the basic reports:

Reports are grouped by category.

Used to analyze the files and activities at your station.

File Reference List (FRR)

Lists file reference numbers of active WorldTracer Delayed Bag, On-Hand Bag, or Damaged Bag Files for the station.

You can also generate a report on screen for a 2-day date range.

You can generate a report for a station and airline combination that you do not handle.

The following status identifiers are added to the file references included in the report: C (Closed), S (Suspended), N (Non-tracing), D (Tracing extended).

Station Log (MSL)

A detailed list of Delayed, Damaged, Forward, and On-Hand Files created at a particular station.

The report includes the file reference, passenger name, flight information, bags and cost, fault station and reason for loss.

It can include Total Loss bags (bags lost completely).

You must limit the report by a date or date range of file creation OR a date range when files are under Headquarters control. Do not enter a date range for both File Creation and Headquarters Control, but if you do, the system responds to the request for files under Headquarters Control only. (Therefore, if there are no files under Headquarters control during this time period, your report will be empty.)

Station Performance (MSP)

Compares when a file was created to when a file was closed. For Delayed Bag, Damaged Bag, or On-Hand Bag Files.

You can choose between files closed within a specified time, or files open within or after a specified length of time.

Example: files closed within 2 days, files closed after 4 days.

Border Clearance (MBC)

Delayed Bag, Damaged Bag, and On-Hand Bag Files going through the local customs and border clearance process, based on the Date Customs Sent or the Date Customs Cleared entered into the file.

The following details must be available in each bag file to be included in the report: Family Name, Initials, Tag Number, Forward Flight Date, Sent to Customs Date, and Cleared from Customs Date.

Reports related to activities performed at your station or by your company.

Activity Status (MRS)

The number of Delayed, Damaged, and On-Hand bag Files currently in the active database for an airline at a station.

The files can be open, suspended, or closed at the time of the report.

Files are grouped by files in primary tracing, in extended tracing, or not in tracing.

Decode the report

  • Files: Total active files of the type listed for the station/airline and date requested.

  • Open: Number of active files open.

  • STN: Station-level WorldTracer files 1–5 days from creation.

  • WTE: WorldTracer extended files more than 5 days from creation.

  • OT: Open files not in the tracing system. Consist of non-tracing (/N) and Damaged Bag files.

  • CLSD: Number of active files that are closed.

  • STN/WTE/OT: number of closed files.

Management Inputs (MRI)

The number of Delayed, On-Hand, Damaged, and Forward Bag files created.

Files include those in tracing, and retired from tracing.

Decode the report

  • SITA Source / Customer Source (for reports using the By Creation Source option)

    Files created by the type of WorldTracer application used, and files created using a customer application. For SITA source, the application used to create the files.

    Customer Source is rarely known in the report, unless provided with the API interface.

    • Type A, Type B: the type of messaging used for WorldTracer Native (green screen) transactions. Type A and Type B are messaging standards used in the aviation industry.

    • WTW: WorldTracer Web GUI

    • Web Service: WorldTracer API (also called HAL), used to interface with customer applications.

  • Stations (and their respective transactions) are listed on the far left. Each column shows a different file type:

    • AHL: Delayed Bag

    • OHD: On-Hand Bag

    • DPR: Damaged Bag

    • FWD: Forward Bag

    • FAH: Forward Delayed Bag

    • FLZ: Forward to Headquarters

    • FOH: Forward On-Hand Bag

  • The numbers in each column show how many transactions occurred for each transaction.

  • Miscellaneous transactions are at the bottom of the report.

Electronic Message Inputs (WEM)

The number of SMS and Email messages (SEA) that were sent for Delayed, On-Hand, and Damaged Bag Files.

Decode the report

  • Stations are listed on the far left.

  • Each column shows a different file type:

    • AHL: Delayed Bag

    • OHD: On-Hand Bag

    • DPR: Damaged Bag

  • Each transaction column is further broken down into two message columns: SMS (text messages) and SEA (email messages).

  • The numbers in each respective column show how many messages were sent for each file type.

  • TOTAL: totals for each station.

  • TOTAL row at the bottom: totals across all reported stations.

  • Any stations without electronic message activity are listed at the bottom of the report.

Management Dates (MDR)

Mishandled Connections (MXR)

A summary of mishandled connections for Delayed Bag Files, where a specific station was involved in the routing, and the Reason for Loss code is between 50 and 59 (Transfer Station).

The basic entry lists the top 25 flights with the most misconnections, from the worst to the best.

It only includes Delayed Bag Files in the active WorldTracer database.

Performance by File (MFK)

The number of Delayed and Damaged bag files, sorted by Reason for Loss category.

The report also calculates the number of files per 1,000 passengers boarded where a station has been designated as the fault station.

This calculation is based on the number of passengers boarded as reported by the airline using the Reports and Statistics > Statistics > Passengers Boarded transaction.

An analysis of mishandled bags, by Reason for Loss category, as a percentage of all reported mishandled bags at a station or stations.

There is also a comparison with the previous year.

Only files with a Fault Station and Reason for Loss are included.

Performance by Bag (MRK)

The number of Delayed and Damaged bag files, sorted by Reason for Loss code, for a station or stations.

The report also calculates the number of mishandled bags per 1,000 passengers boarded where a station has been designated as the fault station.

This calculation is based on the number of passengers boarded as reported by the airline using the Reports and Statistics > Statistics > Passengers Boarded transaction.

Decode the report

  • Total: the number of mishandled bags for each Reason for Loss (RL) code.

  • PER/K: mishandled bags per 1,000 passengers.

  • PAX PER BAG: the number of passengers per mishandled bag.

Fault Station Cost (MRP)

The number of Delayed and Damaged bag files, and a monetary summary of on-line and interline baggage handling performance based on the fault station.

The report includes costs from the Cost element of the files. Costs are taken from the files based on the first flight date.

Decode the report

  • STATION: the different stations included in the report, separated by Online and Interline flights.

  • CLOSED: the number of closed files associated with the station.

  • OPEN: the number of open files associated with the station.

  • TOTAL: the total number of files (open and closed) associated with the station.

  • DELVRY: the number of files that have been delivered.

  • ADVNCE: the number of files that have advanced.

  • CLAIM: the number of files that have been claimed.

  • TOTAL: the total number of files at each station.

  • INTERL TTL: the number of files from Interline stations in each of the columns.

  • STN TTL: the number of files across all stations in each of the columns.

Convert Currency (CCY)

A currency converter to and from US dollars (USD), with the result displayed on screen.

Payment/Cost (MCS)

Payments made and costs incurred at a specified station for Delayed, On-Hand, and Damaged Bag Files.

The report is based on the file reference station/airline and the date the cost is entered in the file.

The delivery costs are those reported by the airline using the Reports and Statistics > Statistics > Delivery Cost transaction.

The report also displays the number of amenity kits issued within the past 60 days.

Decode the report

  • STN: the station which is the subject of the report. Types of files are listed under STN. For example, AHL (Delayed), OHD (On-Hand), and DPR (Damaged — separated by RL codes 80 and 90).

  • DELIVERY: the delivery costs associated with each file type.

  • ADVANCE: the advance costs associated with each file type.

  • F/CLAIM: the costs associated with filing a claim for each file type.

  • INSUR: the insurance costs associated with each file type.

  • OTHER: all the miscellaneous costs associated with each file type.

  • TOTAL: the total cost for each file type across all cost categories.

  • KITS: the number of amenity kits provided, by male and female.

Tracing Cost (WCR)

The number of chargeable WorldTracer transactions performed at your station and each of their associated costs.

Counts are reported by type of transaction.

Decode the report

  • TRANSACTIONS: the different chargeable tracing transactions:

    • AHL – Delayed Bag transactions

    • FRM – File Rematch

    • QAH – Quick Delayed Bag

    • TNT – Tag Number Trace

    • SEA – Send Email (based on the number of emails sent)

    • SMS – Short Message Service (Text message — based on the number of messages sent)

  • NUMBER REQUESTED: how many of each transaction was requested.

  • UNIT COST: the cost (in USD) of each transaction.

  • COST (USD): the actual cost incurred for each transaction (the number created multiplied by the unit cost).

  • FILE/STORAGE: lists different transactions followed by the number of days in the system (for example, AHL/15 is a Delayed bag file that has been in the system for at least 15 days).

  • NUMBER CLOSED: the number of bags closed for each transaction in the timeframe.

  • UNIT COST: the cost (in USD) of each transaction.

  • COST (USD): the actual cost incurred for each transaction (the number created multiplied by the unit cost).

  • REPORTS: the chargeable reports:

    • RFW – Search for Forward Bag

    • ROF – Retrieve On-Hand Bag files

    • ROF/ALL – Retrieve all On-Hand Bag files

    • RAF/ALL – Retrieve all Delayed Bag files

    • ROF/CC – Retrieve all closed On-Hand Bag files

    • RAF/CC – Retrieve all closed Delayed Bag files

  • NUMBER REQUESTED: how many of each report was requested.

  • UNIT COST: the cost (in USD) of each report.

  • COST (USD): the actual cost incurred for each transaction (the number created multiplied by the unit cost).

  • Your stations are listed at the left side of the report.

  • Each station is separated by different airlines operating there, and a total count (TTL) for that station.

  • The count of each transaction is shown where the Station row and the Transaction column intersects.

  • SUMMARY: The chargeable transactions are listed on the left.

  • NUMBER: the count of each transaction across all your stations.

  • UNIT COST: the charge per transaction in USD.

  • COST (USD): column shows the total incurred cost for each transaction.

  • GRAND TOTAL: the total charge of all management transactions.

  • FLT/RL: flight operator and the flight number.

  • CODE: indicates the number of mishandled files (F) and bags (B) for the flight from the requested station.

  • 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, and 70: Reason for Loss code ranges. Each column shows the number of mishandled files (F) and bags (B) associated with each primary Reason for Loss code.

  • TTL: total number of mishandled files (F) and bags (B) for each flight.

  • FILES: the total number of mishandled files for each Reason for Loss code.

  • BAGS: the total number of mishandled bags for each Reason for Loss code.

Worst Flight (MWF)

A summary of Delayed or Damaged Bag Files and bags, indicating which flights produce the most mishandled bags.

By default, the report shows the first 25 flights with the most mishandled bags.

You must select a file type (Delayed or Damaged) for this report.

Decode the report

  • FLIGHT: lists the 25 flights with the most mishandlings.

  • ORIGIN: the number of mishandled files (F) and bags (B) for the flight from the requested station.

  • ON-LINE: the number of mishandled files and bags for the flight when two or more flight/dates exist and all flights are for the requesting airline. The requesting station is one of three or more stations in the Routing (RT) element.

  • INTERLINE: the number of mishandled files and bags for the flight when two or more flight/dates exist and another airline appears before the requesting airline in the flight/date element. The requested station is one of three or more stations in the Routing (RT) element.

  • ARRIVAL: the number of mishandled files and bags for the flight when the last flight/date in the flight/date element is the requesting airline and the requested station is the last station in the Routing (RT) element.

  • TOTAL: the total number of mishandled files and bags for the flight across all the previous categories.

  • REPORT TOTAL: the total number of mishandled files and bags for the station.

  • GRAND TOTAL: the total number of mishandled files and bags for your airline.

These are not reports, but transactions where you enter information about delivery costs and passengers boarded per station, to be used in other report calculations.

Report Description
Delivery Cost (DLV)

Enter the total delivery cost per station for a specific month.

This information is used to calculate costs in the Payment/Cost report for a station.

You can also display delivery costs entered for previous months from the Search tab.
Passengers Boarded (PAX)

Enter the number of passengers boarded at a station in a specific month.

This data is used to calculate statistics per thousand passengers in the following reports:

  • Claims Investigation > Claims Status

  • Fault Station > Performance by File

  • Fault Station > Performance by Bag

You can also display passengers boarded entered for previous months from the Search tab.
